This Vietnamese meatball recipe combines ground pork, shrimp, and seasonings for flavorful meatballs cooked in a savory tomato sauce. It can be prepared in a slow cooker or on the stove top, perfect for serving with bánh mì or as a dip.
Mix together all of your ingredients under MEATBALLS and form into equal size spheres/balls, set aside.
In a slow cooker, mix all of your ingredients under TOMATO SAUCE.
Then add meatballs into your slow cooker and cook on high for 4 hours or low for 8 hours.
When there's about 10 minutes remaining, add the slurry mixture to thicken the sauce up. If you don't like it thickened, you can skip this step.
Serve as a classic bánh mì (Vietnamese sandwich) with cucumbers, cilantro, and pickled carrots and daikon or with crusty bread for dipping. Enjoy.
